Pleased To Meet you

It was my own experience as a client in therapy that inspired me to become a therapist. I know firsthand how it feels to be overwhelmed, uncertain, and unsure of how to move forward. Therapy helped me build insight, develop practical tools, and make meaningful changes in my life. In our work together, we will create a personalized plan and set goals that align with your unique needs and values.

My career began in community mental health, where I worked extensively with families and youth facing complex mental health and behavioral challenges. This setting emphasized a strength-based, family and community-centered approach supported by a coordinated system of care. These early experiences shaped my flexible, creative mindset and taught me to think outside the box when addressing client needs. I also learned the importance of connecting clients to natural supports, with the ultimate goal of fostering independence and reducing long-term reliance on therapy.

After becoming a parent, I transitioned into school-based mental health and counseling, supporting both general education and specialized student populations, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, and ESL needs. I collaborated with staff and families to implement behavior interventions, build inclusive supports, and offer parenting resources to strengthen the home–school connection. I also worked in a leadership capacity to integrate trauma-informed and evidence-based practices into school-wide systems, enhancing behavioral supports, improving classroom management strategies, and promoting consistency in crisis response.

In 2019, I transitioned to a San Francisco-based startup that delivered evidence-based mental health care through Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), which expanded my experience to include virtual therapy. I quickly integrated virtual care into my private practice, allowing me the flexibility to continue working while relocating from Southern to Northern California.

At the heart of my work is a deep respect for each person’s story and resilience. I see therapy as a space for insight, connection, and meaningful change. Virtual therapy allows me to offer consistent, accessible support while helping clients create lasting shifts in their lives.

Often, the principles of therapy and horse training overlap.

Just as in horsemanship, meaningful change in therapy comes from building trust, listening closely, and honoring small shifts.

As Tom Dorrance said, “I try to feel what the horse is feeling and operate from where the horse is.” In therapy, too, we meet people where they are offering support without pressure, and allowing insight to emerge in its own time.

Ray Hunt captured this beautifully with, “Do less, not more,” a reminder that presence, patience, and attunement often create the most lasting impact.

I started my career in Southern California and now permanently reside in a small town in Northern California, near Auburn.

Outside of my work, I enjoy training and riding horses, particularly mustangs, and find meaning in building trust through patience and consistency. I also cherish sp
